The NSW Governor, His Excellency General The Honourable David Hurley AC DSC (Ret’d), popped in to visit CoWS Near The Coast Digital Co-Working Space on Friday the 20th of Feb 2015.

His Excellency has a keen interest in innovation in rural and regional Australia, and during his visit met with a number of the highly-skilled and entrepreneurial people who utilise the CoWS facility.

It was a huge morale boost for all those involved in CoWS to have the space recognized in this manner. In promoting the tech sector and providing an ‘on demand’ office environment for local digital professionals, CoWS is pointing the way towards a new economic future for the region based on the provision of skilled services and the creation of Intellectual Property that can be sold or licensed throughout the global marketplace.

His Excellency’s visit was timed impeccably – CoWS has just celebrated it’s one year anniversary. Already in these early chapters of the CoWS story, the space has been teeming with activity, a highlight of which has been the frequent coding events, as well as numerous networking and special interest group meetings.
